    Council Bluffs (approximate population of 62,000) is situated on the east bank of the Missouri River, east of Omaha, Nebraska. The community’s deer management program was initiated in 2007 and is overseen by the city’s Public Health Department, which regulates where and how many deer may be hunted (bow only) within the city limits--in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
